Based on 601 reviewsSri Kortumalai Pillayar Restaurant in Brickfields is widely praised for its authentic South Indian cuisine with a notable emphasis on flavorful dishes like tender mutton, chicken briyani, and diverse vegetarian options. The self-service style allows diners to customize their meal portions, appealing to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. While the service is generally fast and efficient, it can sometimes be inconsistent during peak hours. Overall, the restaurant is recognized for its welcoming atmosphere and reliable, tasty offerings, maintaining a loyal customer base over the years.
Went here to experience authentic Indian dining experience and it did not disappoint. Many patrons not limited to Indians only. Self service. Just get a plate and get what you want regardless of how much you can eat, take a seat and a staff comes to you to give you the cost of your food. Affordable and food is sooo good. Mutton is tender. The chicken with white sauce is tasty. The omelette was a bit salty. Wish i had and empty stomach so i can taste more dishes. Polite staff. Thank you very much.
Another of our favourite place to lunch. The briyani chicken rice is really good and if you don't stop them, they will pile on the rice (and my waistline will pile up as well). The curries are amazing as well as their many vegetables dishes. You can help yourself to as many variety of side dishes as you want. The service is quick and that's how we like it during lunch time. We come in feeling ravenous, gobble our delicious food and then back to work we go! They haven't changed much throughout the decade that I have been working in this neighbourhood and we are thankful the food is is still delicious and affordable. Update - they now have a wok section to fry dishes for you and you can order Maggi Goreng and Nasi Goreng as well. So, more delicious varieties for lunch!
I am not a big fan of Indian food had IT like 4 Times in my life went here because somebody recomand this place best india food i ever have ...will est again here
I like that they have plenty of vegetarian options and don't necessarily have to take banana leaf rice. Its self service . So for lunch you get a plate, take your rice and dishes whatever you want. Later waiter will come to the table and give you the bill. Non-vegetarian also same a lot of options, same self-service. Overall food taste wise is tasty
Najib's corner! This place is my go to spot for banana leaf rice whenever i visit the temple nearby. They've been in business for as long as i can remember. Service is fast but occasionally hit and miss especially during peak hours. The food is consistently good.
Good selection of foods and rice. The Mutton Curry was tasty and tender. Fried chicken alittle dry. Overall good choices. There is a Najib's corner where the former PM usually seated when at the outlet. Self service for food and water except hot drink orders. Lunch crowd packed so advised to arrive early. Will definitely return again in near future.
